Welp ,looks like the 190 is going bye bye (maybe). Will be interesting to see what happens, especially with no displacement language.

Any new information or rumors? Please do share. Would love to see a certain Canadian replacement for the "buck 90"....

Likewise, you know, disruptors and all that.

Some good reading about the E190 analysis:

https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/jetblue-starts-heavy-scrutiny-of-embraer-190-fleet-as-it-works-to-meet-cost-and-margin-ambitions-342078

However, no mention of the CSeries in the research report.

If I were the Bombardier boys I would set-up camp outside JB headquarters and prepare a compelling deal... As far as I know, the previous Republic order for CS300s is still hanging out there....Delta made the switch from buying former beat up Air Canada E190s to ordering C-Series at very low prices per unit and JB should join the fun too. It's time to negotiate!!!

All manufacturers are doing it - they are called volume orders - price per unit declines as the order numbers increase. Boeing's assertions are LAUGHABLE after this:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/boeing-took-some-extraordinary-measures-to-crush-its-canadian-opposition-2016-3

All of these manufacturers are working hard to protect their turf. Prices are going to be competitive....

My bet is on the A319NEO as a replacement for the 190. Once all the bugs are worked out. Common fleet type, would solve a lot of the miss matched crew issues during Irops and cut down on training costs. Not really sure if Bombardier can match those costs savings with the C series.

I wonder if management might try and convert some of the 320/321 orders into 319 orders and get a deal from airbus. Otherwise its gonna suck for the 190 people, obviously they are not going to get rid all 190s right away but i could see the plane at few planes a year type of pace.

Which would actually suck for the 320 guys. Remember there are quite a few 190 guys on it for qol that are senior to a lot of 320 guys. Multiple fleet types help everyone
