So it's not trying to tell you what to think as much as either getting you to see it or admit it. This place offers nothing over and above the majority of our peer companies, in fact it offers dramatically less. Yet you push back. Yet you soften the message and remain "optimistic".
When it actually gets better, I will be optimistic. I will not get out in front like you guys as it may not happen.

I don't work for B6, but I have survived a nasty battle for a contract before. This is disappointing news for sure, but that's usually what happens leading up to a contract. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I read the thread title. The company will pull out all the stops to convince you the planes are going away, the company is in trouble, etc. If they can convince 51% of the pilot group that the sky is falling, then they can put pressure on the NC to settle for less of a TA. If that's the case and they dig their heels in, I expect it will get worse before it gets better. Hopefully I am way off base and this is just invester relations and a strategic move for something better, but it could be negotiating games as well. Stay the course and hold out for nothing less than what you deserve. I'm hoping you guys get a great CBA sooner than later!

That's because you refuse to admit that JB is by far one of the ugliest girls at the dance. It's essentially empirical. It's a simple matter of factual pay rates, retirement contribution rates, written work rules, pilot retirements (seniority, pay progression), etc. You can't really argue that I'm wrong, but you do in so many overt and covert ways.

Bluedriver.
I don't feel like going and searching but there is a post where I said JetBlue is a tier 2 airline(got attacked for it) and laid out all of our problems. Being behind in stuff that you talk about is TRUE and it was when you got hired but I guess now you are mad about it. I also said I took the job because it got me out of a regional and with our growth worked out well for ME but maybe not others. You skip over all of this and keep demanding that I say and acknowledge the truth that JetBlue is the ugly girl. You are just like these guys in the climate debates if you fail to see the facts you are a denier and so your opinion is not valid. Again a very good way to control a debate. You appear rational and the other person looks bad because he won't go with the facts. I'm sorry I am not going to start every post and say JetBlue is bad bad bad. Anyone can see the payrates the retirement numbers and the airplane orders. They can also read posts by you and some others that clearly talk about it.
I just know what I don't know. Not everything is back and white and you and I are not in the board room with all of the information. What we know for a FACT is growth has slowed (full stop) Now there could be more to it which is what some guys on here were saying but you don't want that. You just want growth has slowed everyone stop talking. Pilots are intellectual by nature and want to know the "why".
We do it everyday, why don't they fix our SOP, why do we have a groundstop, why is this checklist like this and so on. So it should not be a surprise that on an aviation discussion board where we discuss things some people offer a theory on why they did what they did.
Our CFO also talked about it and not wanting the NEOs right now, that seems to be a smart decision based on what Spirit is dealing with. There is also a fleet review and maybe they need to reduce capex so they can do other things, buy bigger airplanes, pay us a fair CBA, build more lodges who knows. But I do know these decisions are not made in a vacuum and you and I do not have all of that information.
You take the very bold position of you will be optimistic when there is proof (that's a safe move)It's like that argument on bluepilots, I'll believe in God when there is proof. That's fine like they say you do you but stop going after people beacause they don't agree with you and try to force them to say what you want them to. I have never asked you to validate my ideas(you will say that's because they are not valid) and I don't care if you do they are my ideas. Again all I did was agree with a post by rvr and you couldn't deal with that I didn't even respond to your other posts because I knew this would happen. This is also how guys like you win. Southern is done (yes I know he is an instructor) bunker seems to be done and I didn't want to write all of this and it's why I didn't post anything to start with. Now you will claim victory and say you have the facts and the superior argument but for me it's now a waste of time to debate with you.(see there goes 10 mins of my life I won't get back)
I guess I will have to wait for the CBA so we can chat more.
So for now "you have the controls" I'm going to study the overhead panel. But because I am a nice guy and want you to be happy, JetBlue for now is the ugly girl at the dance and we are behind in almost everything.
