Exclamation Why do airlines have such large gender pay ga

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/n...female-pilots/

This is disgusting. The entire article is intellectually flawed and worth less than the electrons it's transmitted on. Talk about using statistics to lie. What do they want? Equal outcome through unequal means? It is pretty clear that is the case.

I hope people are a lot smarter than these lunatic leftist causes. The truth is that female pilots are compensated at exactly the same rates as male pilots. These social justice warrior loonies won't be happy until every company has 50% men and 50% female and even then, I suspect it they won't stop. If women were actually paid less, then companies would only hire women because they save the company a lot of money in employment costs! The industry already bends over backwards for women even though it should only be an equation based on qualification and not genders or ethnicity. Keep in mind which companies hire from Women in Aviation and OBAP. I suspect if a non-female/non-ethnic organization were to be instituted, that airlines would not hire from its career fairs.

The leftist ideology of valuing gender outcomes above opportunity is PURE SEXISM and even racism.

This communique is for entertainment purposes only. It does not implicitly or explicitly acknowledge employment with any air carrier nor is any relationship implied. This communique does not represent the opinions or policies of ALPA or JB ALPA and does not represent the collective pilot group, ALPA, nor does it imply collective bargaining, advocacy, or workforce actions intended to disrupt operations.

Not sure why this in the JetBlue sub-forum. Since JetBlue isn't mentioned.

Let's keep this a politics free zone, please.

Ah, those pesky ‘leftists’. Is that a real thing or a narrative invented by far right media to sell ads (and fueled in Breitbart comments)? Because most of the people I meet are pretty middle of the road. The ones who aren’t are either very young (left) or get most of their info from TV (right).

Female pilots bad. Got it.

The author is an urban millennial. What do you expect? Consider, though, that young Hugh is probably pretty supportive of your labor views, queue.

Economists have found a gender pay gap in even Uber drivers.

The root causes are explored on a freakenomics podcasts and are actually fascinating.

Best book I’ve ever read.

Didn’t know they had a podcast.

Maybe because it's a false metric that shouldn't be pursued.

It's just as ludicrous a goal as saying we need an equal number of people who are shorter and taller than 70 inches.

Pay scales should not discriminate on someone's inherent biological natures (color, race, gender). This author is basically advocating discrimination.

Again, this is one of the many problems with Corporatism (rigged choices, no freedom), which has destroyed Capitalism (free choice).

I don't identify with simple labels but I will say there is a left and there's everything else. In other words, there are systems like Socialism/Communism and then there's freedom. I choose Freedom. For the record, freedom does not equate to the American "right", in my opinion. The establishment right is not very different than the left to me.

Where did you get the idea that female pilots are bad?

I doubt Hugh is supportive of my labor views. I simply advocate that workers have a backbone and become their own intelligent market forces. I advocate that we have the freedom to negotiate market standards. We don't have that right now because corporations got the RLA passed. Without it, or with a highly modified version of it, we could be a market force by staging sick outs. That would end our struggle in a matter of days.

I think you are confusing what I think with your preconceived notions of the false left/right paradigm.
