im around 70-80% and I don’t do redeyes unless I choose to so I’m also confused.

Kind of separately but related to west coast growth so I’ll mention it, I don’t think B6 will play the PNW game unless/until an Alaska merger is in play. If this NK acquisition fails, I wouldn’t be surprised to see AS try a B6 acquisition. If it’s successful, I wouldn’t be surprised to see B6 go after AS when the NK merger dust settles.
I think we're gate restricted at LAX for now. 5 gates now means we only get 40 flights a day or so. With NK we'll have 10 gates and 80 flights per day. Not sure how we get more gates from there, I don't see AA giving any up. I'm not sure about an AS marriage. Might a cultural fit, but all boeing vs all airbus?

Seems to really have stagnated. Only 9 in this class did raise my eye brows. Wonder if we're slowing training or are we getting less applicants?

Is SQ (that is the Europe flying, right?) common for new hires?

Are those trips typically commutable? Are the overnights good, or is it kind of a grind?

Also curious about the A220 - don't know anyone who flies it. Nice airplane? How does it compare to a 320?
People I know who fly the A220 at Delta and JB love it - easiest airplane they have ever flown. It has quirks like all airplanes but it is highly automated (makes the A320/21 cockpit look ancient) and it has a comfortable cockpit. No doubt the route variety on the A220 at JB will improve as more airframes arrive.

I’m not a Kennedy guy, but it depends what he’s looking for. If you’re bidding trips that are commutable on both ends (especially if your first commute in is after say 10:00 and you last commute out is before 19:00), and you want weekends off, then redeye are pretty likely. If you’re local, don’t care about commutability, and/or don’t care about weekends off, then it’s much easier to avoid redeyes.

Does anyone know how many classes there will be in January 2024? Date of first class?

I know there is one on the 24th.

Thanks.

Anyone know when the next class will be? Are we running any classes December and for next year considering the VILs?

Minion is the VILs will mostly be for captains, and they will still be hiring FO's, although it probably a reduced rate from what they had planned.
