This is a situation where JB management could really suffer the consequences of treating their labor so poorly for years.

I’d wear a beanie and purple leisure suit if it got rid of our mgmt.

We used to say the same thing about our mgt at LUAL. Bring on LCAL mgt we would say. Boy was that a mistake. Obtw, you will wear the hat, maroon tie and like it. SSDD.

Frankly, I think this is just the respective unions keeping the lines of communication open. The only thing we can't run besides water, is a merger.

Perhaps. But the timing is odd. If this were a year and a half ago when the rumors were rampant I’d agree. But I haven’t heard a merger peep in a long time. Seems odd to have a random NDA’d M&A teleconference with the merger committees/chairmen for no particular reason. If there was nothing except a desire to keep lines of communication open, why would an NDA be necessary? I’ll believe a merger scenario only when it happens, but it is interesting nonetheless.

IN CLOSING:
We gained valuable insight into UAL ALPA’s current priorities as well as a good understanding of their experiences (positive and negative) in their consolidating event with CAL.
Nothing in the report even remotely implies merger talks. A Skype banter about old CAL/UAL crap.
