Default Boston vs JFK for E190

I'm looking at bidding over to the E190. BOS has more flying but I'd be more senior in JFK. Is BOS the place to be for the 190? Or do the JFK 190s sort of filter through BOS for an equal diversity of flying? What's the reserve grid like?

Would you commute to either city? How are the commute options to BOS vs JFK/LGA? How much more senior at JFK? Looking through the monthly pairings, both bases look like a similar mix/flow of flying.. BOS looks like maybe it has a little more RJ-style flying than JFK but that's just from a quick look at the pairing PDFs. No idea what the grids are like so I have nothing for you there.

Probably move to Boston or commute to JFK from Texas. Good options to JFK. Around 64% seniority in Boston and 44% in JFK, but there are so few pilots in JFK (109) that maybe that doesn't make as much of a difference.

Live in base if at all possible. Move to BOS and bid 190. Much better selection of trips vs being slightly more senior in JFK.

Yeah, I know that's probably the right answer. I like where I live so tough to face leaving. The other option is to just do nothing and stay a 320 JFK reserve commuter.

I don’t wanna sound rude, but since it sounds like you’re already at Jetblue, can’t you just look at the bid packets and open-time? That’ll give you the best answer I think.

Not rude. I've done that. Just thought maybe there's something less obvious about it, like the flying is going to dwindle and a year from now it'll suck, or the schedules are completely inflexible.

If you’d be around 45% in JFK I assume you’ve been here coming up on a year? If so I would assume by the time your training/transfer date comes up to move over to the 190 on this system bid you’d be either holding a line or close to it on the bus. Something to think about.

In my experience, living somewhere you'd rather not live is worse than commuting. (edit: JB can make life miserable when you're at work, so why let them make your days off miserable by living somewhere you don't want to be?)

As far as 190 seniority advancement, it appears JFK moves significantly faster than BOS. I assume the high percentage of locals has something to do with that.
