Wow. Compelling. Probably ATC's fault that the post was deleted.

It’s just disappointing how we talk of culture and integrity. The company pre-diverted a flight last night and didn’t offer the customers transportation to their booked destination once they landed at the divert city. That’s just pathetic.

Pauls email today talks about the system and the many people that make it happen. We need to appreciate everyone.

The Pilots last night took it on the chin, after AO told the customers no ground transportation would be available when they landed p and they weren’t going to their destination they booked their tickets to. How’s that integrity? Does that improve culture? Should we as pilots take a breath and relax when things like this happen? How many times have u been asked by inflight to make a calming PA while we’re hooked to the gate and I have less information than the customers?

My original post was heated and this is more factual than emotional.

And the flight was 4 hours delayed. And they expected the crew to “rest” and limo, then operate and limo. That was after a 2 hour CS Call hold time and no hotel till 0500. More breathing and relax. Right Paul?

PS- We’ll announce Q2 earnings soon. We’ll make net $ millions in profits. On whose backs? Yup. There will be high fives at the BOD table and the President and CEO will be lauded.

I agree this is disappointing. However, the customers I am sure will not forget about this incident. The company will hear from them again very soon...If they were not compensated, their lawyers will make sure they fix any integrity problems that their clients experienced.

Exactly what you should do. None of these situations raise my anxiety one point. Depart legally, operate and land safely. Company can choose anywhere they want that landing to be. The particulars behind that don’t weigh on my shoulders. Whenever I end up with a hotel, rest starts when I’m behind the door. After rest I’m perfectly fine to do whatever you need so long as it complies with the CBA, 117, FOM and FAA.

This job is always great when you only concern yourself with things within your control.

I try but I get wrapped around the axel about the lies and deceit. I need to hammer the check on the 8th and 20th and not worry so much.

i can be the same way. I try to think about the passengers and how I would treat them if I were ultimately in charge. unfortunately, I am not ultimately in charge, and the company doesn't apparently care what our feelings are on the subject at those times. so I guess we need to follow their lead and make sure we don't care about anyone else's feelings.
