Default Hotels closing

Are the closing of hotels going to force the hand of the airlines to shut down?

The system should shut down because of ATC now becoming unreliable.

All of MIA hotels shut down.

We have our Tng Ctr there, and are essential worker status (121 mostly cargo). We worked with the Mayor of MIA to have certain hotels stay open for us.

I haven’t flown in over a month so not sure what it’s like out there now....I would think at some point fatigue or sick calls have to skyrocket. Limited food available on the overnights, hotels closing, trying not to get sick on your overnight...and trying to sleep wondering if you’ll be furloughed six months from now. At some point enough is enough.

40 people in hotel last night in BTV. Almost all crew. They let us get carry out and eat in the lobby. I walked across the street to a gas station and bought a 12 pack of beer for my FO and 2 FAS. It’s something. All of them here at B6 less than a year. Side note - fully stocked on beer at the gas station.

Van driver refused to stop at the 24 hour Dunkin Donuts on road to airport. 415am. All we wanted was coffee. Hotel won’t put it out, none at airport, none on plane. Despite no traffic on road said couldn’t spare the time.

Yeah there are a few guys there that are in for a rude awakening as the year continues. Get it while you can though. As long as we don’t have other pilots on the street furloughed.
