are you expecting an interview anytime soon?
Since there aren't as many job openings, aviation or otherwise, as there used to be, if you're fortunate enough to get an interview it's an opportunity you will want to be as well prepared for as possible. As for Jetblue specifically, if the trend of new route additions proves successful and continues, it may be one of the first major airlines hiring again. That's far from a certainty, but not a bad bet to make. If you're interested in riding the next hiring wave, now is the time to put yourself in a position to take advantage of any opportunity that comes your way. On a related note, jetblue mandatory pilot retirements begin to accelerate in the middle of this decade. If that coincides with a general recovery in travel demand, that will make preparing now to get hired early on even more advantageous. |

awesome thank you, 855 in the next 10 years is not bad at all
If JetBlue is either still around or merged in the next 10 years is the bigger question. |

I mean let’s be real that is any airline, but thankfully we are in probably the second best position among any of the airlines to withstand this.
To the original posters question, assuming a COVID recovery sometime late next year (assuming a Vaccine is readily available) B6 may be one of the first to hire again. Lot's of assumptions there, but still not a bad 10-year retirement forecast, considering current airline turmoil. And if we learned anything from this crisis, it might be wise to consider a company with a healthy balance sheet when researching who you might want to apply with. In other words, look at more than just the shiny wide-bodies and the retirement forecasts. You might want look into the financial health of a company? Just sayin. Not throwing stones at others, but just offering an opinion to the original poster who is optimistically thinking about applying to B6 (one day). |
