JS international.

For someone who is still not eligible for ZED fare tickets. Can we show up to the gate for DL and UA and jumpseat to Europe? I looked on MyIDtravel and it is possible to JS internationally with AA as well. I thought we did not have Intl JS privileges with AA.

Delta, AA and Spirit only. Delta list at the gate, AA via myIdtravel and Spirit thru their employee site

Isn't it possible to list at the gate for UA? I saw a JetBlue guy jumpseating internationally (seat in the back) on UA just a couple of months ago.

Yes, possible on UA. Did it from EWR to England a few months back. Getting out of the states was simple, on the return trip give plenty of extra time to find someone who knows how to list you. I almost gave up after being told repeatedly there was no way for them to do it.

The ticket agent made one more phone call and happened to find someone who explained it correctly. It is under the "gates" tab of their computer system, in case that's helpful. Once that was taken care of, super easy and cheaper then a ZED. Free to go over, $120 in taxes for the return.

Good info. Thanks.

Why zed at all if we have this option?

You’ll still want to use zed if traveling with a companion/spouse or if traveling on a foreign carrier.

Good to know that UA is available too

Can you clarify this? If I traveling to Europe with a spouse, can't I just list jumpseat and then buy them a zed? Or are you saying you need to both be traveling on a zed?

Yeah, that would be fine. They don’t both need to be zed. I just meant that zed is still needed for the other person unless you’re traveling alone. Sorry for the confusion.
