However, the language does not REQUIRE the company to interpret it this way, and it doesn't REQUIRE the company treat a SWAP as a DROP. The company is CHOOSING to do that intentionally.

Think about that and remember who ultimately is CHOOSING to ruin your QOL.

I have .02% hope we win that grievance.

This really is the issue. The problem could be fixed overnight with a FLICA update with zero detriment to the operation. They’re making an asinine interpretation of the provision.

To expand on that even further, the company is CHOOSING to interpret the language in the worst possible way, to get guys to turn against their union, because it helps them weaken the union.

Ultimately the union NC failed to recognize the holes in this language, but they did not intentionally sell your QOL. But the company is intentionally ruining your QOL. Remember that important distinction.

Exactly. The company isn't doing this to help their operation or costs, they are doing it to get guys to turn against their own union, and it might be working.

Shame.

I was very disappointed in them pushing this turd of a contract out and now they reap the rewards of their sub par contract. I’ll always support the union over the company but still doesn’t mean I have to be happy with the current mec etc

This is divide and conquer.

Company: look this is what you guys agreed to it’s what the contract says. Blame alpa.

Pilot: well WTF? Alpa sucks. How’s they let this happen.

Company: put out another premium open time bucket(hehehe watch those guys pick it up)

Pilots: you violated the contract!!
Company: you guys picked it up?

This is union busting 101.

What grievance? I don’t know of any grievance about this and I’ve been in contact with multiple people in the union regarding this issue.

I’m not talking about adding a three day over a two day. That is going against the reserve balancing algorithm. Same footprint swaps are being interpreted by the company correctly. Straight from the scheduling committee.

Look I’m a volunteer and a very strong supporter of the union. But this was a major screw up that is very negatively effecting people’s QOL. I pay dues which gives me the right to question and point out problems and mistakes made.

This might get the guys voted out on incompetence. Total screwing of guys qol

When exactly should we select whether we want A, B, C, or D time?
