Generally, $10 less for a device is the better deal, no? Is there an advantage to your link that is $10 more?

BlueJetDork 09-10-2019 10:16 PM

Does it matter?

Like everyone else said already:

The SOP is to use the company provided headset, and it works better when it is plugged in. I bring my own, so when I leave I plug the aircraft headset back in.

I use the ship set then unplug it at the end as a courtesy to those who don’t have my awesome amazing immune system.

I like to run the mic through my pit stains before I’m done. That way I know if I fly it again it’s mine. You’ll know by the smell. But if you’re a little sniffly that day, you’ll be able to tell by the blue chip crumbs and mustard stains on the flavor saver. Sharing is caring and that’s a value that blue jet has.

Plug the effin' headset back in if you unplug it. It REALLY is that simple to respect your fellow pilots who have to scoot the seat back and stand up to reconnect the airplane headset after the CA calls for push. You disconnected it, YOU should put it back. Leave the cockpit as you found it, or better. Anything less is uncivilized.

Reading is fundamental dude. For the 6th time on this thread; I leave the headset tightly and neatly wrapped up in the cubby, unplugged. There is no way someone can put the headset on without seeing that it wasn’t plugged in since you’d have to unwrap the cord first. This alleviates trying to make radio calls with an unplugged headset. See, I care about my fellow a$$hats that throw gear.

It doesn’t matter if it’s neatly wrapped up. You. Are. An. A**. And you are the only one here who thinks you aren’t. Which makes you the problem.

Changing topics, I see your delta job fair didn’t work out 2 years ago (shocker with your attitude)...but do you still have those UAL/DAL apps out like you said you would when you came here? Hope it works out for you. If it doesn’t, I hope you stop being a doosh to your peers coming in to fly behind you.

I decided to stay at Jetblue because Giggity is so great, I love the culture and, we are getting neos!! It’s gonna be so great, all the headset crying dingleberries will forget all about their silly crusade.

Oh and making the headset nazis cry on the interwebsis fun too. Wah wah.

Maybe look back on this thread in the future if/when you pass upgrade when you can't figure out why you are always flying with reserves.

“Gear up, shut up” has always worked very well for me in the past. Thanks for your concern.

BlueJetDork 09-11-2019 07:34 AM

I bet 74% would vote yes to no personal headsets.

This issues that some in this group hyper focus on is staggering.

Who cares! Handle it for yourself.

It’s in your power.

Really!!!! ... just look left or right for a split second and then it’s a dead issue unless you have to make a mountain out of a something that lasts 2 seconds at most.

Such drama!!!

SaintNick 09-11-2019 08:14 AM

I see no problem with not plugging back in the headset. If you neatly put it up I think it’s a non issue. Take care of your own cockpit when you get in the plane. If the headset is hanging and not plugged in that is annoying.

This guy gets it....I really don’t understand why there is so much drama with this. Though what would an anonymous internet forum with pilots be without the drama.

Agree..... Some of you guys need a hobby.

CaptCoolHand 09-11-2019 09:48 AM

I’d prefer you get your schít out of the cockpit, quit dumpster diving and flirting with the cart Donkey’s so I can plug my headset in and turn on the APU. Im on my way to the overnight and the beer isn’t gonna drink itself.

How many of you guys worries about the germs use the TV remote in the hotel? You get in that shower? Mmmmh. Yea.

But seriously? Plugged unplugged? Who gives a rats poop hole. You put your iPad in don’t you? Program the FMS? FFD? Is it that hard to spend the 2.4seconds to plug or unplug?

The things we complain about.

localizer 09-11-2019 10:51 AM

I didn’t think this thread would be such a hit.

Yes, we do. And even with them, the brakes are sometimes released when the crew leaves if the brakes are hot and it's a turning acft.

In a previous life we released the brakes immediately after receiving the chocks in sign and they were left off until the next walk around. Airbus and Boeing. Even with brake fans. Of course unless there was a specific reason to have the brakes on.

dingo222 09-11-2019 03:42 PM

Get your own headset man. Have you seen some of these dirtball, coming into work sick, “I was in San Nicholas” hsv2 having clowns in our airline? I’m mean just take a look at the windscreens. It looks like some of these people just ate chicken and waffles and wiped their hands clean on the glass.

And oh btw, move the damn seat up if you are going to leave the headset unplugged so I don’t skewer my skull on the overhead. And the screens in the Airbus aren’t touch screens, so keep your booger hooks off of them. And open the damn vent when you unass the airplane is LAS and it’s 113 outside. And yer on guard, and get off my lawn. Sheesh.

Yeah, brake fans. Those are pretty cool. Hope this helps.
Page 7. Bids are out!

Did you go running into Kent's office again crying about all the bad mean pilots on the interwebs?! You're perfect for JB and our fine brand of snitch culture. Next time you're crying while plugging the headset back in might wanna give it a sniff first.....

Yeah...ok. Not a JFK guy. And don’t snitch. I’d email you directly if I got in a plane behind you without the headset plugged in, or just plug it back in. Or just plug my own in if I have it with me. But keep deflecting from the fact that you are a douche.

I’m devastated. It hurts when you can’t control the behaviors of all huh? Oh and you don’t snitch huh? Don’t kick that can, you wouldn’t want it to be exposed in a public forum.
