JetBlue Gears Up for More Stock Buybacks

What is the benefit of doing another stock buyback?
  • Will this benefit the domestic and upcoming/mythical EU expansion?
  • Will this provide more cash to give employees profit sharing so I can buy that Xbox360?
  • Will this accelerate the purchasing of more aircraft?
  • Will this liberate more money to make aircraft bleedless to truly solve the fumes problem experienced on almost every flight (even though most Captains never actually write it up)?
  • Will this only benefit shareholders and board members?

Reduce share count, and increase EPS. They stated a goal of $2.50-$3 EPS for 2020 and they will do everything that can to hit it.

Except they are floating more leverage in the near future with another offering.

Or are they just offering debt certificates, not actual stock?

They’re creeping up on $1Billion in buybacks. I’m still stymied by the fact we grew from 1999-2008 into the 5th largest airline in the US. The worst of economic times. Here we are stagnating from 2011-Present in the most favorable of economic times. My profit sharing has decreased -79% in 2017 to -98% in 2018 when compared to 2016.

How can I validate my worth as a valued employee when the company has made more net profit in 2017, 2018 respectively and compared to 2016 net profits. Culture? More like lies.

The airline more than doubled in size in that time frame

Yeah he seems to have a weird definition of ‘stagnating’.

- Slightly under 10% seniority list growth in 2019 with similar plans for 2020.

- New aircraft type introduction Q4 2020.

- Transatlantic service plans for Q2 2021.

- 155 new aircraft orders on books representing net gain of 95 aircraft...37% increase in fleet size.

Which time frame? The one where profit sharing decreased to ~0?

Only an idiot would think that.
