Default Open time

Hey it’s early but just helps with making some decisions. What do you guys/gals think about picking up open time till July with people on volunteer? Is it gonna be kosher? Or wait for guidance from the union?

Wait for guidance.
That said, people are volunteering for incentive lines atm.

There won’t/can’t be guidance from ALPA

lets use those critical thinking skills.

I was assuming what we bid is what we get. Don’t touch anything. Treat it as if guys are on the street. But there’s always a few that need that 120hrs

Use your head. They need a lot of no-fly lines just to get up to 74 hrs ALV. That means a metric sh!t ton of cuts are on the way. If you can supplement your 74 hr line with picked up flying, go for it. If you're looking for group permission, I guess you have it. It's not as though we have guys on the street. Yet.
I pity your situation though, if your circumstances are such that you're already panicking about your income. If the last few weeks haven't been a wake-up call to consolidate your financial position and cut your budget then I'm not sure what else would do the trick.

I pity your attitude. I actually have no debt. No car payment. No house payments. I was amazingly enough thinking of the people with families that need to fly to lines. I can live on 40hrs. I’ve been furloughed. Been through a bankruptcy. But thank you for assuming my pitiful situation for try to think of my peers. I love this site

I guess I was trying to have people become aware that it will become an issue and I want to do whatever I can to keep people from getting furloughed. But BlueDude gimmie your employee number so I can avoid bidding with a fine individual as yourself

This “Volunteer” round is step one, for those of us that have been thru a downturn before with furloughs, downgrades; I doubt they will get as many as they are requiring which is a sh!t ton. I can only speak for the rebel base but I highly doubt they will get enough; Next round will be “Non Volunteer” reduced lines or we furlough...all part of the process...

I don’t know....there are plenty of junior Captains I can see taking the 50 hour line. They get abused flying their junior schedules with no weekends off, maybe they see this as a break. I think it’ll go pretty senior on the captain side, and more junior on the FO side. Just my opinion/guess, which means little.
