Write a safety report that pilots are incentivized to fly sick and that you just flew with sick people. Write to the FAA stating the same and that it's a systemic problem. The more times you get it written into a report, the more times you can do a FOIA request. Eventually ALPA or someone will get around to using those reports to build a case against airlines and the FAA for incentivizing sick flyers. Also, if you feel affected by it after the flight, file a post-flight fatigue report specifically noting the sick pilot and its detrimental performance impacting effects on you (one of which was feeling tired, out of it, not mentally alert, etc... everything that goes along with catching something). If you want to win against people who fly sick, you have to win with paper cuts.

Then all that comes out of my PTO for operating in and out of the epicenter and deadheads.

People just aren’t getting tested unless they have severe symptoms so even if I did have the virus no one is getting pay protected for proactively calling out should they deem necessary.
Make a personal visit to management's offices and ask them about their policy. I'm sure they would love to explain things to you while having mild symptoms. If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for them.

Default Texas quarantine for arrivals from NYC

This afternoon the governor of TX signed an executive order that all paxs arriving by air from NYC must quarantine at home or a hotel for 14 days. Law enforcement will register people leaving the aircraft. I guess as a non working commuter I’ll just hand the trooper my form letter identifying me as an essential worker and point out that the document makes me biologically different from passengers despite being contained for hours in the same aluminum tube from the same point of origin.

Doesn’t apply to driving. The absurdity of government.

Blue shirts must be virus proof. We are gonna be the ones transmitting this to everyone else. How aircrews got exempt from any of this is truly beyond me.

Many would consider us a utility in the name of commerce. Of course this is debatable. I would rather be employed with a good job at jetBlue taking precautions. It's not the best situation I agree. Plenty that I know would rather be working than wondering what there next job will be as they sit on the unemployment line. Thoughts? What would you do?

Be the captain and realize you’re not a doctor and you may be succumbing to preconceived bias. If they certify fit what’s my justification? I can’t go on a hunch despite what I think. What I can do is remove myself.
