Expecting career progression no need to apply

8 yrs RJ Capt short call reserve. If that's something you are interested in it will be 10-12 yrs for you.

Softpayman 04-08-2021 07:40 AM

Not sure what this post is supposed to be. You could be in a different seat if you’d like and be off reserve though.

nuball5 04-08-2021 07:58 AM

Are we really looking at a small snapshot 12 months since Covid started and calling that “career progression?”

An 8 year 190 Captain should really be slinging gear from the right seat of an A320 with 500+ pilots on furlough below them if Congress didn’t step in and perform CPR on this industry three different times. Some maybe still are with displacements.

Wow such an entitled lack of perspective. In reality you should be in the right seat of the bus, your seat and equipment was your choice! Is this really your first industry downturn? If not you should reread your random post and see how it comes off!

PotatoChip 04-08-2021 08:51 AM

What tone deaf nonsense is this?

jetBlue is a junior company, care to share any other brand new information no one new?

After two years here, one of them through a massive downturn, I never missed a full paycheck. Now, I hold a line on the bus, avoid red eyes, and fly to layovers I want to go to.

ClncClarence 04-08-2021 09:15 AM

My sympathy goes to all the RSV FOs in your base who can’t bid to avoid getting paired with your whiny a$$.

Is that positivity? We can't have any of that around here!

feltf4 04-08-2021 12:10 PM

Sounds like someone’s mad about the recent supplemental bid awards.

Softpayman 04-08-2021 12:29 PM

Seeing as the average pilot has the memory of a goldfish I’m waiting for the first ,”so you have your stuff in at Delta?” Should be any day now.

APCHCLIMB 04-08-2021 01:01 PM

7 day TSA numbers are only ranging between 1.1M->1.5M. I think some people are acting like this is all behind us.

No one cares about today. Airlines are in 2022 already.

Ha, did you just try to figure out the Short Call Reserve Grid again?
I hope you don't commute to SCR because that Reserve Grid and tray tables down would make me not so jolly at work.

actually the reserve grid is super easy to use now.

1. Select a day you want to trade
2. Think about submitting the request.
3. Turn off computer and walk away because it ain’t happening.

8 yrs on SCR....? maybe in MCO, but you should be holding a line in JFK/BOS on 190 unless you fudged up your bid.

Definitely. I’ve got less overall seniority than that and I’m holding a line in BOS as a 190 CA. LCR during COVID. Everyone keeping not bidding those weekend 25hr DFW overnights. They’re terrible😉

now that flying has picked up on the 190 it’s funny to look at the reserve list and see all the local guys who bid lcr flying quite a bit while the scr have 4/5
hoirs max

chucknorris 04-11-2021 06:01 AM

Meanwhile in Boston a 5 year hire is holding an e90 lines, and that’s after covid f*ed everything up.

It’s a young airline, and people all bid for their own reasons. I thought I was going to take a220 capt in the Supp.... I’d be the plug with 12 years on property... no thanks.

Man, you have it rough! Meanwhile, for the past year, I have only had to pull SCR one time, and have never had any LCR moves denied. You must have chosen the wrong base.

I’ve gotten maybe one reserve day swapped in the last year. It’s useless with this AMAZING, one of a kind, best in the industry reserve system our genius negotiators put in there...

Different B/S/E perhaps, but I have had zero issues other than one month when I bid LCR and got SCR last year. I agree, our RSV grid move ability got insanely less user-friendly once the CBA was finalized. TBH, I never even look at the grid anymore, I simply put what I want, and either I get it or I don't. My luck has been the opposite of yours this past year. I don't recall any move ever being denied, but maybe one? Then again, I usually get exactly what I bid for, so I haven't really tried to move days more than 3-4 times perhaps? YMMV

I haven’t been successful in moving days once in the past 12 months.

I just swapped out of a Saturday; didn't bother trying to figure out grid, just submitted swap and checked back later.

Glad to see the recent grievance changed the process for swapping a shorter trip for a longer trip. Getting denied an OT swap from a 2-day to a 4-day that covered the same footprint was pretty asinine.

were you swapping a trip? Or a SCR rsv day.

it’s honestly very rare to swap a SCR day now. Used to be very easy. I have had no luck. Middle of the week days trying to trade for weekends don’t work even.

Yep.

It’s getting back to precovid times especially in the smaller bases. We literally only have enough SCR to cover the basic schedule. There is never more than 1 person in each bucket and never more than 1 person in a window.

Which means you can never move a SCR day.
