I always thought our wings look like cartoon pilot wings.

If the uniform is such a negative for the pilot group, why don’t they petition the union to address it once and for all?

Have the pilot group say what we want, go for a more traditional pilot uniform design navy with with shirt and gold embossing etc

Have some companies put forward some designs for the contract and have the union pick what they want

it’s a recurring issue and everyone wants to turn up to work professional, and better than the competitors

I agree friends and relatives have told me they have no idea with the JetBlue uniforms who’s a pilot or FA etc it’s so different to other airlines and there’s no distinction which is obvious in every other airline

That’s a feature, not a bug, especially with any of the jackets. But with the shirts/blazers, the stripes and wings kind of give it away. And have the union pick? The union is lucky to even get notified of a change (even though it’s required by the CBA). The brand department is more powerful in that regard than flight ops or the union. The last system chief pilot tried to find a new all weather jacket when the leather jacket got axed, and the subsequent replacement wool coat sucked for this job (would be ok on Wall Street or something). He pushed for the Karbon Aviator II. That was denied by the brand folks because it wasn’t professional looking enough. So the brand folks chose this instead https://www.amazon.com/Hart-Schaffne.../dp/B0084ZAQN4. Union uniform committee got notified after the change to this all weather jacket. Also, JetBlue charges pilots $295 for it in the uniform store…Amazon and department stores carry it for $100+ less. The jackets at jetblue aren’t silk lined, so sleeves get all bunched up in them and subsequently wrinkled. The uniform people know and have made recommendations to fix it. But nah. They won’t. We can pay someone to get our jackets properly lined though. Getting them to accept a uniform proposal from the alpa uniform people…good luck. I’ve just accepted poor quality, poor looking, and often poor fitting uniforms. Hey, at least there’s no hat.

12 shirts???

Spilling too much Brodo on them?
Sewing them together to escape the Lodge?
Not letting your original uniform allotment "breathe"?

Sometimes you have to think outside the box. I wanted to order the A Cut Above shirts when they had them (I hear they already discontinued them sadly) but they were like $29 each and the company wouldn’t reimburse against your uniform allowance.

Well, they do sell very nice luggage on the uniform site that you can buy with your allowance. The TravelPro 18” is like $160 and they sell them for $200 on Amazon. I’ve made a couple friends quite happy to buy such a nice piece of luggage at a discount and I’m happy to have my shirts paid for.
