Hey everyone, does JetBlue have a base at EWR like apc says or is it just jfk? And is it possible to get that base out of training?

-yes

-doubtful but it may not take ridiculously long, expect JFK and BOS out of the gate, occasional LA every once in a while

Occasional (very occasional) FLL too.

But yes, EWR is a base. It has a temporary crew lounge now that sucks. It will self correct when the move to the new terminal in the Fall happens.

The most junior EWR FO was hired 2/23 this year. So yes it's possible, but unlikely IMO.

You may have to drive to JFK for a year or two. Tolls are only about $40 RT :mad:

No way to know if EWR is going to stay a JetBlue base with the Spirit acquisition or if it’ll be forced to divest all EWR holding to keep the NEA intact. Fortunately there is an airline that has a large EWR presence, always seems to have openings in that base in every fleet type, and regularly hires pilots from JetBlue.

Divest all of JB’s EWR assets?! Lmao! That’s good comedy right there.

I glanced at the system bid (don’t have it in front of me, but it looked like they’re growing Newark next year to have around 90-100 FO’s. Strangely is showed considerably less Captains. I would imagine they’d consolidate ACY into EWR when the time comes.

Also, looks like 5200 active pilots for JB by the end of next year? If Spirit continues to hire above attrition, we could end up having close to 9000 pilots total when these companies complete the merge. Should make for a strong Union. We just need a complete overhaul of our current management.

Divesting assets at EWR? That's hilarious. Not going to happen.

Co-terminals must be within 40 miles of each other so an ACY co-terminal at EWR is not going to come into play.

Yea maybe I misspoke. I meant closure of ACY and adding more growth to EWR.
