JetBlue Flight Benefits Question
 

Since it looks like I’ll be coming over in a couple years, I’m curious about your flight benefits.
I understand it’s time of check in, not seniority based, correct? And everyone is eligible for Mint?
I assume you have ZED agreements with AA/UA/DL (we are missing all three at NK).
Any business class ZEDS?
How about global ZED coverage? We have a lot of Europe covered at NK but basically nothing in Asia.

It's time of check in except for the jumpseat which is DOH. You & dependants are eligible for Mint if they are above the age of 8(?) but not buddy pass riders.
ZED on AA/UA/DL, can list in business on UA & AA.
Can list in business on some other random carriers like LOT Polish Airlines, but I'm not aware of a complete list.
The list of ZED carriers is pretty long, with several Asian/SE Asian carriers.
Honestly there is hardly anywhere in the world you couldn't get to with our ZED agreements.

Time of check in for nonrev? How do you plan around that? Why not DOH for nonrev?

I guess you "get around it" by setting an alarm for 24 hours + 1 minute prior to the departure time so you can be the first one to check-in.
The clever ones learn which method of checking in is the fastest and where the buttons to click are on the screen before they show up.

I like this system better than straight DOH since it reduces last minute disappointments, and when it comes down to the last seats (jumpseats) it's still DOH which I think is a nice compromise.

You also get "super passes" which allow you to increase your priority by one level (from 4 to 3), but these are limited per year.

I would also counter by asking: How do you plan around someone hired in '99 (or insert other incredibly senior hire date here) who listed last minute to get home from Disney with their spouse and 2 kids?

At least this way, its just down to remembering to hit the button 24 hours prior, and you immediately know your place in line, and can explore other options immediately if you don't like your place in line.

Adding onto benefits:

- How many family member/friend slots are given? (Spouse, parents, in-laws, etc.)
- Any buddy passes?

Also, anyone nonrev on the new routes to Europe? What was your experience? Easy upgrade for mint (if it’s available)?

Off the top of my head I think it's 4 buddy passes per quarter?
We also get access a certain amount of friends and family discounted tickets per year, those can go to anyone. .

Because this is JetBlue and we are all "equals" here.

translation: if the number one tells you you need to do something, you damn well better do it…..yes, I have had a flight attendant here tell me I need to do divert while somewhere over the Atlantic due to a completely harmless item that she thought was essential.

Mint to the UK is pretty darn nice, more than competitive with the other premium offerings across the pond (except for lack of lounge access from a pax perspective)…. Generally that’s the thing about B6, when they put their mind to something they do a really awesome job on it however the rest of the operation tends to falls apart in the meantime because no one is minding the store.

Yes easy to upgrade if there are seats available as long as you list in J Class, the standby list clears fairly transparently. Only catch is on the way back to the States it’s about $100 more in taxes over the already inflated “UK Air Passenger Duty” in Y class (of around $230 for LHR off the top of my head, LGW is a bit less). That being said I’ve also ridden in the back and it’s the same old seats, but WiFi strangely worked the whole way without a hitch, meal mix and match choices that u order through ur IFE which believe it or not looked appetizing…unlimited beer/wine/spirits, blanket/pillow/half way descent amenities kit even in economy… not a bad way to cross the atlantic.
