I'm halfway between FLL-MIA on the west side of the tracks (makes a big difference). It's paid for and I'm not shopping for adult scooters yet, but those days are coming quicker and quicker.

My advice to anyone moving to this area is a minimum of a Ruger LCP with the little laser for daytime chores and light shopping, and at least a 9mm during rush hour and after dark (forget the double tap is my theory. Sometimes a snub nose .38 (it's comfortable to carry). If I have to pull the trigger once they're getting 1/2 the rounds first, then emptying the mag - the way the kids in my neighborhood play is empty their mags all at once).

I've only had to display it twice in over 20 years but that was enough to scare them off. Don't forget when sitting in a restaurant your wife's and mother in laws purses are excellent targets for a grab and run before you can put your fork down.

I live a few blocks away from the high school that kid was suspended from when the neighborhood watch guy shot him at his Dad's neighborhood outside MCO a few years back, so you might want to think private schools.

Only a sucker would live there. 1-1.5hrs north or west of that area and it's a different world where none of that crap exists. Only have to make the drive 4-5 times a month. Totally worth not dealing with that mess.
