I recommend we push the union and educate our peers on what the average value is of PS, so they understand how much they are losing by placing it low on surveys.
Our peers all get the same 24 paychecks a year we get. They also on an average year get a bonus that can pay college tuition or a new motorcycle or a bathroom remodel or a new deck. Whatever... Sometimes it's enough to pay cash for a new car...

OUR peers are Spirit, Allegiant, and Frontier, with Alaska being the very tippy top of our group (seeing as that we will still make less than Alaska with this agreement).
I fully expect our JCBA to reflect that sad reality. If you think we will get anything more than a JCBA fitting for a bottom barrel, cowardly, short sighted pilot group represented by an extremely lazy union, you will be very disappointed.

Congrats on the TA. I know not everyone is happy with it, but it’s time to focus on the JCBA.
As a Spirit guy, I’d like to getting educated on y’all’s contract. The sooner we can band together on the JCBA matters, the sooner we can make our elected reps aware of what we want.
With RH saying he wants to compete with the big 4, we have a ton of leverage going into the JCBA.

I have to disagree with you. With this vote our group has solidified the fact that UAL, DAL, and AA are NOT our peers.

delta & AS just got a full on contract and we aren’t there yet til the JCBA, which is when we’ll see who are peers really are. But until then, we have it in writing who are peers are thanks to this TA, which SHOULD be valuable for the JCBA
not coming at you, let me know if I have it wrong

This was advertised as a short term financial raise in order to get us financial incentives now vs waiting for JCBA. If we did go labor dispute, and if we voted this down, and the company didn't come back to the table until JCBA, what would your reaction have been? I voted yes. I watched the alpa videos, talked to guys on the line, talked to ALPA reps who were flying the line as well, and I voted yes. Take the money now, and negotiate for a good JCBA. I have multiple items that I will not vote YES unless we get them in the JCBA. For me personally on this TA, it wasn't worth giving up a raise now when the company could and probably would drag it's feet over the next year while we're still making less than the rest of the industry. I'd have rather gone to a labor dispute over the holidays and pushed the company harder, but once the TA was out, it was too late, so I felt it was this or give up the gains until we negotiate a full contract in 2 years. The income lost from shooting this down wouldn't have been worth it IMO.

how though? This was a small bump in pay before a full on contract like the big boys. As it is right now, UAL & AA are behind blue in pay.

Even if you separate out all the non-open items, which I would say is appropriate in this case and was the right call, and leave it at straight compensation, the signing bonus, pay, and profit sharing, all trail (or will trail soon) every peer in the mutually agreed upon peer set once they get their contracts done. And then they’ll have retro that covers the time between contracts (look at delta’s) that eliminates the worry for the “time value of money” piece. And before anyone says “nobody ever gets full retro,” just do the math on deltas formula and compare it to the amount jetblue pilots just agreed to. Then look at Alaskas formula and do the same. Bottom line: B6 pilots just accepted less than everyone else…again. It’s no longer a one time thing. It’s now a pattern. Congrats guys.
