BOS AME

Can anyone reccommend a pilot-friendly AME around BOS? I'm south of the city so prefer South Shore or in the city if possible. Thanks!

I usually try to use Karl Zuzarte, who works out of Fall River most of the time but some days is in Westport. Not the most personable guy in the world, but he's typically pretty quick and no nonsense. Also a little cheaper than everyone else.

The last couple years, however, Zuzarte has been fully booked by the time I get my monthly schedule. I've instead been going to James Alban in Falmouth. He's a nice enough guy but he's the "I thought about being a pilot" type who will talk your ear off. He also goes much more in depth with his exam, to include some things that aren't part of the exam (like checking my nuts for lumps every time... I get the importance but dude, I have a PCP for that...). I wouldn't go so far as to say avoid him, but I prefer to drive the extra 30 minutes to Fall River when Zuzarte has availability.

Depends where in the South Shore you’re are, but if you’re willing to drive to Fall River, not much further is Dr.Ross in Bristol, RI. Really nice guy and office. That’s where I go and I drive from the Metrowest area.

If you're willing to drive to MHT, Dr Mekler is really good. Nhflydoc.com

Not sure if I agree....his wife sometimes thinks she's screening for NASA. She has tried to send me home before I even got to the doc before.
