NB Terminates NEA agreement with AA
 

I have to think that strengthens the merger case at a minimum.

All part of the plan….they needed the NEA to pay the bills in the aftermath of the Biden bug. Now it’s excess baggage of ammunition for the other side of the Spirit merger case that we’d have to pay off American to get rid of to merge. Courts did them a favor.

So, AA is appealing, JB is not. Where does that leave things? Or does JetBlue withdrawing from the NEA render AA’s appeal moot?

JB terminating means it's over. I think the court's decision gave cover and will allow them to get out of the deal without paying the termination fee.

I think this will hurt AA more. The plan was to have JB feed the AA 321XLR Europe flying to stick it to Delta with more efficient aircraft. AA can’t feed it due to lack of flying slots. Kiss Doha 777 flying goodbye. The original plan was to use PHL to swamp point to point and off-season Europe flying. Come to find out in court records the plan changed to JFK because of the JB NEA deal. No one knows what the new plan will be.

Good luck with the Spirit merger. For those who haven’t been through a merger yet, hope it works out. Plan on the worst and hope for the best.

Agree with everything you say. I think though more appropriate in the AA threads no?..............unless of course JetBlue people are thinking about applying to AA.

I fear there may be some stagnation and displacements ahead.

The Doha flight is there to feed Qatar in Doha. Not because of JB feed in JFK.
