class date soon...tips? advice?
Have a class date soon at B6 and wondering what those of you who've been there and done that wish you'd known before you started?
Excited and happy about the opportunity! |

Study what they tell you to study. No more, no less. There are no trick questions… ever.

Honestly looking back I wish I didn't stress as much as I did. Came from a regional and had the regional training mindset. Training at B6 is non stressful. Don't need to study or know anything beforehand. Depending what aircraft you get just follow the training material on the ipad. The course is laid out a specific way and as long as you do it that way you'll have no issues. Go in, trust the training process, relax and enjoy your time in training. All the instructors across two different types here have been great and will make sure you are set up for success. No surprises or curve balls here in training. Both times being at the school house for me have been enjoyable experiences.
I was definitely over stressing coming from regional training, during most of my time in training. Coming from a regional with an AWFUL training reputation, I was waiting for the instructor that didnt seem to care if I passed or failed, and it never happened. I felt confused because I wasnt being asked to know every nut & bolt on the BUS. Towards the end I changed my mindset and just enjoyed it. |
Great stuff. Thank you for the info!
They'll probably address this at some point at the beginning, but....are wives/girlfriends allowed to visit? I suspect not, but figured I would ask. I haven't seen a training footprint/calendar yet but I'd imagine that's coming. |

What made regional training so much harder than JB?

Do any of you have insight on bases in terms of seniority progression? I'd be a commuter no matter what, so trying to see what the shortest path, bid-wise, to a line is.

BOS E190 is the fastest seniority progression by a large margin.
Or does it make MORE sense to bid 220 now? I understand how seniority works at my single-type regional, but not with disparate fleet types/changes like B6 is facing. |

I've wondered about that. With the 190 being phased out, does it make sense to bid the 190 now, ride the speed of that seniority, and then leverage that to bid over to whatever 220 or 320 flying there is?

Go to American if you want seniority progression. Jetblue is not the place. |

If you want progression, it’s not here. Especially If you have to commute, go to AA, etc., make your commute worthwhile. |

just to give you perspective…yes, my relative seniority company wide has improved as we have a much larger list since then, however, I’ve been here just about 10 years, I’ve moved up just under 500 numbers in that time. I know guys at AA for close to the same number of years that have moved up, thousands of numbers and counting, by the several hundreds per quarter.

Even relative seniority wise, AA is a far better choice for seniority progression. |

No doubt just pointing out the flaw in the previous post. |
