JB ALPA life insurance
Does anyone have it? Is it a good deal or am I better off on the open market? I’m a new old guy so I have no idea about this stuff.

You'll be WAY better off on the open market. ALPA life insurance will go up every year as you get older. You'll find a much better deal buying a 10, 20, or 30-year term policy based on your current age and excellent health.

ALPA (not through JB) offers one of the most competitive term policies out there. It does not increase every year. It’s based on your health and age when you buy it. I have a 20yr term for 1.5M I got from Alpa when I was 30 and it’s $67/mo. No broker on the market could touch it on price.

Similar experience here. 2mil at 78/month, including a GA rider. Open market and USAA generally wanted 3x that for 1 mil...

Sorry about the wrong advice, thanks for setting me straight. So does your ALPA insurance policy stay in place after you quit/retire?

Yes, however my term will be up before I retire. I figured at that age and our stage of life my 401k and home equity would be enough to sustain my spouse. Kids would be grown.

OK, then I go back to my first suggestion. Don't buy ALPA term insurance if leaving JetBlue means your policy gets cancelled.
