They did say 'transcon and Mint" flying.

Mint to Hawaii is going to happen. Heard it here first.

Ha ha ha ha!

Keep swimming.

Furloughs are more likely than Hawaii!

CP said no reduction in flying at LAX. He said we will supposedly take some of the trips from JFK and we'll likely see an increase in the number of 3 and 4 day trips in the bid package (think LAX>JFK>SFO>BOS>LAX). We only need 5% of the trips to be 1 days, which comes out to about 1 a day. LAX is strategically too important to close. We're the mop up crew when things go south in the system.

Great to see him say that. That's the only assurance I've heard the company provide LA crews... unfortunately, it's coming informally from your post. AS just announced expanded LA flying. As much as I like it here, as optimistic as I've been when others have said the sky is falling... it's becoming increasingly hard to stay hitched to this train (at least from an LA perspective). I hope they let us see behind the curtain on investor day, because right now I don't have any warm fuzzies.

The only time I ever tell people to leave jetblue(bc it’s not my business) is when they are a lifetime west coaster.

Every single other legacy/major is a better option.

I don't know. I'm a lifetime west coaster and I've been very happy here. So many senior people bid reserve that it's pretty easy to hold a line if you want one. I think everyone who wanted a line in March got one. The move-up lines went unfilled.

Yeah, there is a good reason people bid reserve here. Hard to find that QOL at the legacies until you can hold widebody.

That’s good to hear, but being the “mop up crew” is not encouraging when it comes to growth and progression of QOL in the base.

After these latest cuts the only non-base flying done from LAX will be SLC, SJD, BDL, BUF, NAS. The first two cities likely remain solely for 1day pairing construction requirement and the last two exist likely for political, subsidy, and/or utilization purposes.

I do think longer term we wind up merging with someone else who will have a better west coast presence (the bar is low) but in the meantime it will be lean pickings for the LAX base.

That looks more like a three day.
