With a draw down in LAX service has there been any mention of the future of the LAX pilot base?

Longer term I think a merger with AS is likely, but probably several years after they digest the HA merger (assuming that goes through). In the crazy event that AS/HA falls apart like NK/B6 did then maybe we merge with AS in another year or two. |

Nothing from the company or union regarding LAX future, but it isnt looking great. We will maintain LAX-SLC/SJD which will allow the company to build some 1day pairings to satisfy trip mix requirements, so the base may stay open if those routes survive.

Some sort of base has to exist to have crews positioned out there for recovery. Now the base will be the same size as Newark.

However this once and for all should confirm what should have been obvious for like 2 years that there is not much future for in da West coast for junior JetBlue pilots or prospective JetBlue pilots...........I know Hawaii right. As stated in other threads, I always thought they were lying about that one. |

All joking aside, the next network change email states changes regarding winter network, so something like pulling planes from seasonal Europe destinations and adding Hawaii might be a possibility. I know I posted my doubts in the other thread, but if block hours will remain flat then they need something like LAX-Hawaii and/or transcons. |
