I thought I read there would be no displacements and very few vacancies.

This is what we were told during recurrent last week. Possible supplemental bid for FLL220 next year and a possible expansion in SQ flying. No hiring expected until the end of next year at the earliest.

How would we do the SQ expansion after selling the XLR and no more LR/XLR Neos until after 2029? Just curious. Did anyone ask? Unless they are planning on just using the 321Neos with 16 Mint seats (vs the 24 in the LRs)

Sheesh, over two years of letting people trickle out of here like a fart at a family gathering. What are they going to do when Uncle John’s famous chili is knocking on the door? We must have at least 1000 people here actively trying to leave.

They’ll spool up the gateway programs and promote the super impressive junior crew base of San Juan that every aspiring major airline pilot seeks to achieve as their domicile. It worked great for American Eagle in the 90’s, right?

My guess is the company would be just fine with losing 500 pilots. We plussed up significantly in anticipation of the Spirit merger that never happened. We've been overmanned ever since.

Not disputing your opinion but on the earnings call JG stated we are “appropriately staffed”. Historically, jetblue has not been phased by turn over despite the added costs it brings. Do not mistake your own personal value with the opinion of management.

Also, management stated the XLR’s represent a 3rd fleet type at this point and they aren’t willing to take on that burden hence the sale. Low single digits of growth the next few years largely with returning AOG’s which will not add additional costs as they are already owned. Management is banking on the continued decline of ULCC’s as well. That little nugget of information, IMHO, will be the single biggest factor on whether the BOD sells the airline or not.

I think this is the right take. Nothing is going to happen until the fate of NK is resolved because there are too many unknowns. My contrary take to a merger is that if UA sees the value in B6 as JFK, then is the FAA/DOJ/DOT going to allow UAL to dominate NYC with EWR and JFK or will they require much divestiture so that it effectively neuters a deal.
