Jet Blue Sim Instructors pay

Anyone have an idea as to what the pay scale is for Sim instructors at the MCO facility?

Jet Blue Sim Instructor

Looking for a good estimate on pay and whether or not they have an opportunity to move to a first officer position at some point.

I believe the current agreement for a “instructor pilot” is 2 years teaching at JBU, making roughly $70k/yr (without any overtime) and then you have the option to move to the line if you want.

You also get a seniority number the day you start, unlike in the past.

Schedule/questions

I am seriously considering putting an app in for this position. I haven’t had much luck getting an interview with JB in the past. I am a former part 121 FO and CA(12 years ago). I instructed at FlightSafety for 8 years after that. I currently fly corporate jets, but I was wondering if the FlightSafety background might help get my foot in the door. Can anyone provide more info regarding schedule, & QOL? Can you commute to this job and slum it in a crash pad? Does seniority start day one on campus, or does it start when you actually begin teaching? Thanks in advance.

Overall, I would say, apply and see what happens. I don't have any firsthand experience, but I do know someone who commuted to a full-time instructor position. Can't remember if he had a crashpad or stayed with friends/family. Pretty sure seniority starts day one.

Interview

Has anyone in here interviewed for this position recently? Wondering what the process is like compared to the FO interview.

Should be exactly the same, with the addition of a presentation (15 min) you will make on a non-aviation subject.
