Who defines big stuff? In my opinion there are some pretty big things in some of our guides and handbooks.
An employee has rights. A good contract insures that some incompetent boob doesn't cost some pilot his or her job in an industry that is seniority driven. If someone decides to check into my "integrity" for instance, it would be nice to have an attack-dog attorney who can speak for me - and someone who could poke around to insure that integrity is being checked at all levels of jetBlue.
Yes, sometimes people keep their jobs when they shouldn't....but sometimes people lose their jobs when they shouldn't. Which is worse.
