He has all the money he could ever need. I'll bet he's just going to take it easy.

Mixed feelings here. He's a nice guy in person and he's done a great deal of good from a planning and operations standpoint. But he's not the most pilot friendly manager in the world and we probably have him to thank for the huge A320/E190 pay split. I wish him well, though, and his replacement may well be worse. We'll see.

respectfully disagree, al represents the values of which this company founded. he took the surveys very seriously, i.e. MB being pushed away from flight training. as far as being pilot friendly, show me someone who has been "pilot friendly"? ill take al over DB anyday.

regarding the "pay split", it was based on jetblue's pilot cost per seat mile. i dont like that reality, however, if we to say "no", im sure MESA (alpa) would have been receiving a phone call for "jetblue express".

al deserves to retire with his money, he help create a fine airline to work for. i hope his predecessor learns from his demeanor and values.

somehow, i've always thought of jetblue as the jetblue express.

I suppose you think a totally separate sen list and the ability to whipsaw the pilots of both companies is the way to go.

You guys that farm out mainline flying to commuter carriers amaze me when you ***** about JB. THOSE guys flying YOUR routes for fifty bucks an hour are your problem, not JB. Express 8 year Capt = JB 1st year 190, not counting over 70 hour rates and the ability to bid up to the Airbus.
I don't like the 190 rates and I'm no JB cheerleader as many here know, but you've got to get a grip.

i find it incredibly IRONIC that the JB guys who, by their blind acceptance of everything l. ron neeleman farts, ****s, says, or otherwise spews, have helped lower the bar for the rest of us significantly. and here you are today, bemoaning the 190 payscales. what the **** did you expect??? YOU, and the rest of the "will fly for food" crowd willingly accepted sub-standard wages, benefits, employment, etc and now you weep and moan when the next logical step, the step you, yourselves, assured would happen, happens. you think the cheap-**** wages are going to be confined to the 190? you need to pinch yourselves awake.

too late for you guys now. you made the bed for the rest of us, now lie in it with us. and watch l.ron and his buddies start to bail over the next year. i have no clue who this "AL" guy is but i assure you, he is the first of many who will be deserting the JB ship in the months to come.

now you may want to watch "the philadelphia story" anyway; you guys are going to need a laugh pretty soon. and actually, it's more like 70 years old but still one of the best comedies ever.
