Boston JetBlue reserve
#31
Living near ATL I'd be commuting to reserve. Is there a system for parking at your commuting airport....ATL in this case? Are the crash pads in BOS reasonable? (I had one based at JFK.) Guys...thanks for an open and honest dialogue without the BS that's all to common on APC.
I'm not sure if they will pay for airport parking at a non-hub city. Maybe another commuter will answer that one.

Commuting to JFK/LGA might be easier from ATL. BOS crash pads are around $200-250 and I think JFK Is about the same. There is a jetblue shuttle bus that takes crews between Kew Gardens and JFK, which makes life a bit easier. Q-Runner is good to get from LGA to Kew and vice versa.

Crash pads are about 250 a month. Mine is in Kew Gardens, single beds, no hot-racking, plenty to do in the area (lots of restaurants, shopping and local planet fitness). The best part is that there is a FREE hourly shuttle to/from Kew Gardens and JFK. Very, very convenient.

Boston JetBlue reserve
I am in BOS on reserve until the end of the month. The company will pay either $40 towards airport parking at my domicile OR buy a T-pass in BOS.
My local airport only charges $16 per month so I choose the T pass. It's been invaluable to explore Boston during my time off.
The crashpad I stay at is 2 minutes from the Maverick T stop and is $220/mon. I can leave my apartment and be at the gate in 20 minutes. It is a 4 bedroom apartment - each room has a bunkbed in it. Most of the time I'm alone.
Bathroom and kitchen are perpetually filthy. Sometimes I'll break down and clean them, but next time you go back they're disgusting again. Some guys need their moms to follow them around and clean up after them I guess.
Neighborhood is very safe during daylight hours. There is a grocery store, And a Walgreens a few blocks away. Tons of good, cheap restaurants ("Dough" pizzeria - best sandwiches in town). Target is a 15 minute ride on the T.
There is a great YMCA in east Boston, or a Planet Fitness 2 stops away on the T.

Very realistic is a bit of a stretch. Closer to 3500+ TT may give him a chance. I don't mean to come across as a dark rain cloud, just wanted to shed some light on the situation.
With that being said...realistic..no, impossible..absolutely not.

Without a blue dart not realistic at all. There is a writeup on vets in blue in the mil forum, your hours are insufficient for what they are currently looking for. If you are pure civilian JB wants a min of 5000 hours to be competitive.

It also says preferred is 1,000 turbine PIC. But they hired many with 0 when the blue dart program was non existent. Not saying its likely but it's not impossible.

I don't mean to rain down on the parade.. I have 6000tt 4500 jet, ATP, 7yr RJ FO, etc.. I have been trying for 5+ yrs and haven't got called. I'm hoping my time is coming though.. I gotta be close and it looks like the upgrade will coming soon. Seems without PIC time you can't go anywhere..
