Retirement:
100% matching up to 5% of your salary. Plus another 5% of some sort of "profit sharing" and another 3% for some other sort of profit sharing.
It's all kind of weird as they have to have these retarded "workarounds" to give the pilots some semblance of retirement because we are not a separate work group, thanks to us not being union.
Bottom line:
1. You kick in at least 5% and bluejet contributes 13% total of your salary.
-or-
2. You don't kick in any, bluejet contributes 8% total of your salary.
Like I said, it's sort of retarded.
By comparison, Alaska pilot gets 15% from the company no matter how much the pilot kicks in on their own.

Duly noted, certainly a lot of room for improvement. Thanks very much for the info!

This is my favorite theory by far. JetBlue will "sell" you out of seniority order along with the 190 while keeping new hire 320 guys on property.

Upgrade:
Difficult to tell. The E190 goes fairly junior relative to other carriers. I'm guessing 2-4 years. Most jr. airbus captain seems to be around the 7 year mark.
The fly in the ointment regarding the quick E190 upgrade is this: Will you even remain a "jetblue" pilot in a year or three as bluejet sells that thing off to Mesa/Republic/TransStates and you go with it? Since we don't have a CBA, our "fragmentation language" is complete dogsh*t and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that you'll end up on the street while airbus FOs junior to you keep their jobs at bluejet.
Isn't being a non-union carrier grand?

It's not up to Jetblue management when the airline is purchased by a holding company. As per section 15 they also have the ability to siphon of 30% of assets. In the event of an acquisition this scenario is just a likely as being stapled or being offered preferential interviews. No one truly knows but to believe it "can't happen to me" in this industry with this management team...

YUUUP.
We should vote and can vote in a union, but if someone wants to buy us (I really don't think so) we can still be totally screwed.

I know what your saying, I've been chasing along time. I try talking to the guys every time on the jumpseat, see if its the "right" one. I just haven't met the right person. I've been to an invite only job fair. I ran across I guy that did the interviews, that promised to get me in. Emailed and called several times over the course of 6 months and never heard a word. I've been sending updates to a guy that apparently says he "pulls" the apps and would pull mine. I sent him my stuff 3yrs ago and have not heard a word, although I still send him an updated resume now and than. I just think, i haven't run into the right guy yet..

Also, in all fairness, I was a bit full of it in my post, as I didn't mention that I am also a vet, and a Army aviator. I am sure that factored into my selection with lower times and no TPIC.
