Default crickets

I applied in February, then again in April. I am just trying to figure out why I am not getting a phone call.
I have 7000 total, 6000 plus EFIS jet time, 1500PIC turbine on a A320, 2500PIC total, but alas no degree. Working on it.
I keep hearing how desperate they are and I really want to work there(BOS bred and raised). I work overseas which I heard can be a disqualifying factor. Is it that I work overseas, or the fact that I do not have the degree that is holding me back? Or is it they think that I will just jump ship as soon as United calls (which they wont because of the degree), or some other thing I am not thinking of. Just trying to raise my kids in a normal place. I'd appreciate some insight.

Rumors of JB being desperate for pilots are wildly exaggerated. Keep the faith, and go to a career fair to meet someone in person.

This is true. Since the airline is shrinking and upgrades have more or less stopped JetBlue doesn't need many new pilots at all.

Just keep applying and networking.
They do hire guys from foreign carriers, we had 2 in my class a little over 5 years ago. It's really still luck of the draw and who you know.
The degree is not a showstopper as well or living near a United base.
Keep updating that app and really try to get to a job fair.
Good luck man hope you get back to the states soon.

Everything he said was completely fair and true.

Our seniority list has shrunk recently and our upgrades are paltry.

The seniority list is only produced twice per year. Have any of the last few lists had fewer pilots than the previous? Serious question. I haven't looked to see. The next one comes out in July. Let's see what it says.

The number of applications received in the last few windows is significantly lower than what we used to receive. That is a fact you cannot argue. And by significantly I mean 4000 in some windows to 1000 in the last. That's bad. We can fill our classes sure. But the quality of the candidate will suffer with those kinds of numbers.

Management would rather have lower-quality candidates who don't demand market-rate pay (just happy to be here!), won't wear an ALPA lanyard, and aren't able to bail to another airline when they finally see the light.
