We have a few remaining 321CEOs to take delivery of (supposed to wrap up this year), and the rest of the orders are NEOs. I heard, but don’t know for sure, our first NEO comes in the spring. That buys a little time. But the Pratts keep having issues, so I imagine we can defer again so long as those issues keep popping up. I’m kind of wishing now we had gone with the LEAPs.

There is no trouble filling the classes, I can assure you that. Trouble on "where" we can train them is another issue which will affect the "when". Defer an airplane that has plenty of training availability does not make sense. Bypass pay?
The difficulty of 190 training due to sims would put pressure on the 320 deferments? Hmmm....

And yes, because of the pay discrepancy the company DEMANDED, they must hire and first train E190 pilots to completion before they can open up A320 slots, because of our contract. They can't keep up with that process, so they may very well have to defer more deliveries because of E190 training backlog.
Maybe they'll do deferral pay or maybe they will be incompetent. What does history tell you?

This company didn't even have the sense to pay E190 pilots 90% of A320, you think they will pay them 100%?!?

They will only be paying those on bypass. Not everyone.

There’s plenty of 190 pilots who can’t hold the bus. Especially on the CA side.
There is already mechanism in the contract to allow for bypass pay.
Once the year long transition bid takes effect next year, they then run a supplemental with a year long transition as well. Then they chose to bypass any 190 guys bidding off.

Interesting times for sure. That August 2019 bid for 2020 training will most likely be the first one with 220 slots.
I think ultimately we will see it shake out similar to the seniority distribution we have now. Guys will take the small pay difference for the improved QOL from the bump in seniority.
But that’s still like 5 years plus before it all shakes out.
