Uncle Paul says “The FAA recently posted an interpretation that non-rev duties of “de minimus” cleaning or other light activities are not considered duty when commuting. The interpretation was requested by our Legal department to clarify confusion surrounding what activities constitute duty. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Chief Pilot.”
De minimus cleaning it is then. My seatbelt will be crossed and the seatback will be cleaned out.

I never clean. Even had a flight attendant swap seats with me (cause I was in the last row originally) because she said she didn’t want to clean and knew if I was in the front I’d just walk right off. (Wasn’t upset in saying that. Actually was laughing)

And a new FAA interpretation. The company is clearly coming guns blazing on this. There will be discipline soon.
