Congrats on making it to the pool! I'm still waiting on a hopeful phase 2. Felt my interview could of gone better.

Did they mention at all how long until you get a class?

Has anyone gotten a call yet that applied after the newest window? (July 1st)

I don’t know how hard of a question this is to answer, but...
I just flew a transcon two-day trip on reserve. No redeye. It was awesome.
How long would it take to hold a line of such trips as an FO? My captain had no concept of FO life, so he couldn’t answer.

Friend of mine gets all 2-days like that, and they’ve been at Jetblue for a 1.5 years. Also is not a red-eye fan (who is). There always seems to be a plethora of open time to swap with too...that’s how my friend avoided those awful red-eyes and 4&5 days trips when he/she was a little newer. This person is local to JFK though. If you’re Boston based, there’s less open-time to swap with it seems.

Just take a look at the open-time and the bid results each month. That’ll give you a good idea. Sometimes it’ll work, sometimes it won’t.

I do mostly those type of trips and am about 35% on the FO list. Don’t focus on years. Took me six. Might take you ten. Or two. Who knows depending on growth and route structure.

They are relaxing and a lot of fun, but while they appear productive (6+ per day), if you count waking hours gone from home instead of just calendar days, the red eye three days are similar and can be held rapidly. That said, they’re very tiring.

I have heard nothing. Like someone else said, I suspect we will hear something in September.

Thanks for the intel.
Yeah, I avoid redeyes. I drive two-three hours home from JFK, and doing that after a redeye and then home to kids ain’t fun for anyone.

What would be considerations when deciding on BOS vs. JFK on the 190 as a new hire commuter. I'm seeing the ability to gain seniority looks to be pretty similar and it looks like plenty of commute options from my home (ATL) to both. Looking for other considerations that someone new to the industry may not think about but should before deciding on these 2 options. Thanks.
