In a thread from the January 2014 time frame, I read about a $6,000 salary correction / retention bonus / wage adjustment for first year pay. Regardless of what it was called, did it come to fruition? If so, will new hires starting this year see this or was it a correction to a previous pay scale? Thanks

The "bonus" was created to get around section 3A of our last contract (about 150 pilots remain on that contract). In essence, it guarantees that if a new hire gets a raise that the current pilot would get a raise by the same percentage. So, JB is not giving first year pilots a raise, but rather a retention bonus. The current pay rate for first year F/O's will not change (until a CBA is reached), but the bonus might.
Clear as mud?

I would imagine that every new hire will get this until we have a CBA.

So when someone hits their one year hire anniversary, they should see this?

Unless you spent 1100 hrs by yourself running checks in MU2s from Detroit City Airport between the hrs of 10pm and 7am four nights a week. Then you're just happy you have someone else to talk to (i.e. keep you awake) and glad you're not running checks in MU-2s from Detroit City between the hrs of 10pm and 7am four nights a week. All relative I guess!

Best of luck, Cindy. Good on ya going the extra mile to fly JetBlue inbound. One thing I stumbled across (obvious in retrospect) ... in addition to talking to the crew, ask your seat-mates what they think of JB. I got all kinds of raves from the people I was sitting with (I had not told them why I was asking), and even had the guy in front of us turning around to pile on about why he preferred JetBlue to carriers X and Y. This gave me all sorts of real-world info to back up some of the book-learnin' gouge about the company and directly helped my interview.
Also ... I stayed at the Verve and had dinner at the Dutch Kills Centraal pub around the corner. Great meal, and it turns out some of the interviewers were just a couple tables over! Aviation standard ... it's a very small world

Can someone at JB give us potential new hires a sense of the healthcare costs? I know this is an area of divisiveness. Perhaps this belongs in a different forum but I can't seem to find any specifics. What would premiums be for a year one pilot and spouse/family?
