Here's the elephant in the room: any views (speculation presumably) on how the upcoming vote may impact future classes or hiring? That's the question all of us wanted to ask - but were afraid to - at the interview.

Jetblue is no different.
The reality is these are just threats and once the union vote passes an airline still has to run. Classes will continue, growth will continue.

JetBlue needs pilots. Airplanes are coming and people are leaving. They will need even more pilots when they are forced to implement real work rules and vacation system.

Yeah they say they will slow growth but what else would you expect them to say.
WE NEED PILOTS....ALPA or not we need guys.
I really don't think us voting in ALPA is going to change much and if it causes that much of a problem for our business plan than we have a poor business plan.

If you have seen JetBlue's latest propaganda package either in the mail or on a recent email, you may have seen their spin on comparisons. They attempt to compare and contrast JetBlue with the major airlines. Statistics and statistical analysis can say whatever the author wants them to by inclusion, exclusion, or just plain incorrect facts.
JetBlue has the Delta rates wrong...maybe some of the others. JetBlue includes several pages comparing the rate of pilot compensation change. Are we supposed to be impressed that JetBlue was SO far behind everyone else for so long and they are finally catching up (but still trailing in almost every category)? I guess they were at least smart enough not to include Medical benefits analysis....or retirement benefits...or legal.
Be smart folks. JetBlue isn't a bad place, but it's way behind where it should be and management is to blame 100%. A union is a step in the right direction, but it's going to take a lot of hard work from everyone. New guys...PLEASE do not come in to JetBlue saying that it's better than your regional! This is not a regional and should not be compared to one. Expect great things and great things will happen. Onward...
