If you are under 35, have pic, no busts, a clan driving record, don't live in NYC, BOS, or FLA... YOU ARE A FLIGHT RISK. There's a good chance you'll leave here within 24mo.

Jetblue is weighing newhires differently than in the past. That said we do have a lot of excellent qualified resumes coming in. Those resumes are also out there with delta, aa, yonited, and SWA too.

How big of a deal is the driving record? I wasn't the best driver in my early 20's...

Luckily Im under 35, mostly PIC, 1000TPIC (turboprop), and live in S. Fl.; currently obtaining some jet time but still under 100 hrs.

I'd be ecstatic at having BOS or NY anyways...if given the chance.

Hopefully I can buy some interview prep and learn how to convince them I'm not applying at other airlines...cuz I'm really not, at least yet.

Everyone in my new hire class last year had PIC and prob 80% were commuters.

I'm not saying they don't take a look at the big picture that you described but I think it's far down the list. Maybe these are some things they look at when the candidate is on the edge of approval, but initially I doubt it.

Can you elaborate on how much TT? PIC? Typical experience level? from your class..
Thanks,

This month I flew with 3 new hires. First let me say they were all great guys, good pilots(just need to learn the 320). None of them had any PIC time. ZERO.

2 turbo prop and 1 corp, all JFK based. Not sure about smaller bases.

In a effort to mitigate attrition I think JetBlue may be targeting pilots with a reasonable level of experience but limited to no PIC time. Qualified to fly here but perhaps not to leave for a major? Who knows. Hiring department, excuse me, talent acquisition is closer to black ops or the CIA.

Thanks for the help. My little sarcasm emoticon would not work. It is somewhat frustrating that I follow these threads closely, try and network and really want to work at JB if they will ever have me but some just come in, throw in an app in and expect the call. You can't win if you don't play!!

Whew! 44 here. But yes, turbine PIC, no busts, clean driving record, no enforcement actions, 142 instructor, degree, and now... 18 hours of recency of experience (to add to the other 9300T) in a jet over 75K#. In DFW, willing to move to FL. JB....anyone there....Hello...JB?

Personally, I have no interest in a SWA, delta, united etc. I like the vibe I get every time I travel on JetBlue. Never met a crew I didn't like. Say what you want but they do a really good job of selection as far as I can tell. Putting my stuff in.

As usual you know everything.:....however I'm pretty sure this is a personal opinion not a truth
