I'm thinking that at this point after the vets in blue thing last week that pretty much all the emails have gone out for the remaining 45 or so interview slots for the December 15 class. Unless anybody got an email today...maybe the will send out more tomorrow? I know that people were getting them a couple of days ago...I don't see why they wouldn't just send them all out at once. Next shot in March most likely.

It is an interview group on Dec 15th not a class. People will still back out of the interview and they will try and backfill those spots. I am willing to bet there are one or two people who will be interviewing on the 15th that have no idea yet. The great thing with JetBlue is that you don't need college transcripts and the paperwork they have you bring can be filled out very quickly.
If so, I'm ready. Booked a flight up there just in case. Fingers crossed.

Question for the BOS domiciled military alumni-- Where (if anywhere) are there commissaries and/or exchanges up that way? Anything at Pease in NH, or around the Boston Area?
Just wondering if I'll have any options up that way as a retiree. Nothing is coming to mind from my limited local knowledge, hence the question.

Move to SE NH (Exeter if you have kids) and enjoy the tax benefits and you're close to Pease.

For people who are interviewing or who have interviewed recently, are you handwriting or typing the "Why JetBlue" 200 word essay?
Also, what are people doing for flight time that isn't PIC (signed for/primarily responsible for the airplane) or SIC. Lets say I'm flying my friend's plane with him, and therefore he is responsible for the plane, but I am the sole manipulator and flying it and he's just riding along? It's in my logbook per the FARs, but I can't log it in this provided table since he could take over at any time. Another example...I flew a WW2 fighter for almost an hour. The guy in front was clearly in charge and the insurance covered only him as the PIC, but I flew it the entire time minus takeoff/landing. Do I just omit that time and have less total time on the application than is in my logbook? Another scenario would be when I was a 1800 hour guy getting a fixed wing instrument add on rating in a cessna. The 400 hour CFII is responsible for the aircraft and my instruction, although I am the only one touching the controls and flying it, and am rated in that category and class. FAA says log it as PIC time. But my interpretation is I can't log that time as anything per the JB table, and therefore it is not loggable time.
I don't care either way, I just don't want discrepancies between my logbook and what I am submitting to JB. When my logbooks say I have 3000 TT and this sheet of paper says I have 2800 TT, or whatever the difference is, do I just say the discrepancy is due to the difference in what JB calls for and what the FAA calls for?

Pease doesn't offer much for retirees other than new ID cards; however if you wanna move to New Hampshire message me for a referral to a good realtor (wife)! Coast guard Boston is right by the TD Garden and offers free parking and a cheap bar with microbrews right in the north end. Unless you love Boston (which I do), there's no reason to live in Mass over New Hampshire other than family reasons.
