The fact they labeled it a bonus though and it wasn't in the PEA or in writing anywhere I'm guessing is why ALPA has chosen not to pursue it as a status quo issue. There may have even been an email with the reasoning that I'm forgetting.
I didn't realize 2013 hires received a bonus as well.

My class was in the same situation as stddeviation, just after the union vote so no pea and no cba, just some murky middle ground.

Does anyone know when the next Vets in Blue will be or when the next hiring window will be? Also, about how long after your interview does usually take before you start work?

Pros:
SWA: No PBS, opportunity to work extra, larger route structure, AWESOME healthcare and dental plans (350$ a month-or 0 a month with one of their plans), good culture
JB: quick upgrade, good culture

Cons: SWA-not Herb's airline anymore-that really isn't a con
Longer upgrade
Cons JB: less pay, not good health benefits, not good for commuting from my location, no CBA

Anymore to add?

Not trying to be rude but reading this I think you know where to go(its not jetBlue)

And JB stayed true to their word and just deposited the $6000 new hire bonus.

Yes, I squawked and moaned and yearned for a drive to DAL instead of a commute to JFK, but I'm happy with B6. Although I'll probably need a knee replacement in 5 years from sitting in 737 jumpseats from TX to NY. But at least I'm familiar enough with the AA procedures to know when to gird my loins when someone reaches for the printer paper.

From reading your posts I know you had a tough year, I am glad things are looking up for you.....

Not that ALPA doesn't have enough on their plate, but it sure would be nice if they could throw a bone to the 2015-CBA new hires that missed out on the generous carrot company offered out of the kindness of there heart.

Post CBA hires I figure will be better compensated than we were. (Hint: maybe retro pay for those that signed the ALPA deal as new hires in training)

Default jetBlue Hiring

Lot of good info, but yeah I've already made my choice. Obviously I have weighed the pros and cons of each. Considering where I will be living, the commute will be much better for me at SWA. That being said, I still want to provide my friends with good information to help them make their decision. We all have different reasons to go to different airlines. What's best for me may not be best for them.

Personally anywhere you can drive rather than commute even if it's a couple years away is more important than anything (except stability of company).

Of course along with that rumor is the one about them closing the 190 base as soon as they have displacement language...

Our shot to grow MCO was when american moved terminals. I had a glimmer of hope until frontier moved in no less than 2 weeks later.
