Shouldn't such a big change be a status quo violation?

So what happens with our RSV system? I used to get plenty of LCR, and never get call for a 1 or 2 day pairings at the beginning of a RSV block of 4/5/6 days.
Now, last two months, no more LCR, can't swap days, and being called for 1 day paring at on the first day is the norm. I also have noticed we have much less guys in RSV now.
Isn't such change a violation of the status quo? What's happening?
How long are we going to be like that? Is this cyclical?

We staff the company for the average, and when we get to the peak seasons we get emails from mgmt about how we have to 'run hot', while in trough seasons we go months without flying on RSV!

Not sure which base you are talking about, but bus JFK, most reserves have been sitting around not doing a whole lot last few months. I still think we have too many reserves. 88 in March and now 95 in April. I know guys that haven't flown in 5-7 weeks, but sitting short call every single day. I've done 2 daytrips in the last 4 weeks.
In jfk the new guys absorb most of the open time to complete the 100hr, that is not the same for every base.
Anyway everything was fine until February, that's when the RSV grid changed color. And that influences line holders QOL too.
Two day trips in four weeks is the way reserve should be.
That's why is called reserve.

We are getting to the busy seasons for flying. Jetblue is leisure heavy, so our flying peaks around summer vacations, holidays, spring break, etc and the lowest points are Sept/Oct times of the year. Most airlines are more balanced and don't have big differences between peaks and troughs like we do.
