What does it mean if you receive the VIB offer? High likelihood they are targeting you for offer?

I believe it just means you submitted an application in the most recent window and you indicated that you are a veteran.

Can anyone tell me the average time it takes from getting the CJO to actually starting training? I'm just looking for a rough estimate. Thanks.

Anywhere from a month to over a year based on past practices.

Dec 15th interviews mostly got in the March and April classes. You don't get a "CJO" until you accept a class date a few weeks in advance of said class date. You do however get a phase 2 notification a day or so after the interview if your interview was successful, which typically means you'll get a class date at some point and are then "in the pool," so it's kind of like a CJO but still not guaranteed. So from PH2 notification to class starting has been 3-4 months from my limited but recent experience. Prior to us it seemed like it was a bit longer, so it would probably depend on class sizes and such.

I concur with the above. It varies, January interviews are looking at 5-6 months.

The bottom guy who got LGB on this last bid is a friend of a friend, hired last April, so I'd guess you'll get it next time around. I'm not done with training yet, I'm planning on commuting for a year, but hoping it starts moving quicker than that.
