Has anyone recently interviewed for both a First Officer and Instructor position at the same time? I interviewed in June in MCO and did both interviews and in Phase 2, but wondering if anyone has anymore details of the position.

The Jan/feb guys didn't sit any reserve, I don't think. March/Apr/May guys have not been so lucky. I think a chunk of the March hires are holding lines now.

A friend of mine hired last October had 1 month of RSV, if that much, in JFK on the 190 and has been a line holder since. If I can manage less than 6 months I'd consider that a good deal. For the new guys welcome aboard!

Finished my phone interview and have an early Sept. interview in NYC. I saw that there is an aptitude test... I looked through 100 pages and couldn't see any thing on a gouge. Anyone have anything? Sorry if it has been posted before but 800+ pages is a lot to go through.

Also, can I use jetBlue internal references AS my three references, or do I have to have external references and the internal references are just icing on the cake?

Many thanks.

I'm by no means an expert, but I'm pretty sure it was my JB internal references that helped me get the nod. Get yourself ready for the interview. I HIGHLY recommend Emerald Coast Interview Consulting. I did my "polish off" session on the phone with a JB pilot the morning of the interview and have never been more ready for an interview. Best of luck.

Im sorry, I have no gouge except I just heard the "aptitude" test was recently changed and is no pushover test. Very difficult now.......Anybody else heard this?

There's not much you can do to prepare for the aptitude test other than get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast or grab a quick snack before hand. It's has some personality-type questions and some multi-tasking stuff. Read the directions closely. There's also a part where you fly an A-10 (I think?) with a desktop joystick. That part's pretty straight-forward. The test comes at the end of the day and IIRC, it takes about two hours. I think that's the most challenging thing about it. I know it counts for something, but no idea how much it counts. I think they're trying to gather reliable baseline data with which to evaluate future Gateway Select (ab initio) applicants, but definitely take it seriously.

For the LORs, you can have up to 3 externals in addition to however many internals you have.

All in all, the interview is a great experience and they try to make it as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Good luck!

Spot on about the aptitude test. There is no way to study, but do what he says and take your time with it.

I had 3 external LOR in addition to 2 internal letters.

March 24th interview and August 3rd class. Just for a frame of reference.

Good luck!

And thank you to everyone who posted in response to my 190 reserve questions in NY and BOS. Much obliged.
