I've been hounded by a few guys for leaving but then I just say "wait a minute, your seniority went up!" QOL in my opinion, is the most important thing to me, more so than money or anything else and that was a major driving force to look at other opportunities.
That's funny that you say you will be attacked for your post, I made one post and feel that way already haha, just have to laugh at it. Attacking others over differing opinions is not worth the engagement, it says more about the attacker than anything else. Good luck, I hope jb pilots get everything they deserve, I had a great experience with the people I flew with.

I happen to think JB needs MASSIVE improvement before I will say it is on par with Delta, United, SWA or FedEx.

I am happy that that you changed your situation for the better one. Plenty on here are not as honest with themselves like you were and made your QOL better by leaving. They play they are the victim, they are stuck here, they can't do any better for themselves, this place is so bad, let me tell you how you should live your life cause I know better than you....
I enjoy it here. PLENTY of things we NEED work on no doubt. My commute is easy. QOL is awesome. I choose QOL over money and seat. It's simple for me. Others might want different. I have a few friends that have left and are very happy they left for their reasons but they do miss something about JB.
It's my opinion and I will be attacked soon after this is posted. Not in person... just behind the curtain like the "great and Powerful OZ"

There it is!
LOL. we got three whole positive posts in before everything here sucks.
1100 more pages of why jb sucks now please.
I'm in the same boat as Craig, Payne, Hyper and 450. Lifes not perfect a bluejet. But it's not "breaking rocks in Afghanistan". Or the prison sentence described much of the time either.
I know guys who hate UAL as much as some hate it here. Same with AA. The grass isn't greener... it's just different grass. We've had guys come here from fedex, one guy just had the last chance to go back to UAL and stayed here. MY GOD WHY!!
and really? wide bodies? you came here and thought... some day we'll have wide bodies? give it a rest already.
Yep we have very few retirements... but we're growing, I mean stagnantly growing... not parking jets, no differals (yet right).
We'll add another 9-10% to this pilot list this year and we've steadily added a few hundred guys for the last 6-7 years. But they're secretly planning to return some 320's they'll never tell us about.
I was hired in 2008 at #2005 I'm 1760 something now and we've got 3700ish on the list. Not sure where I could have gone then to make it to 48% on the list by now but it's not UAL AA or DAL.
BD, I'm not sure what your dream airline was, I'm sorry it's not here.

It's not perfect but where is? What does that even mean?
We ARE at the bottom of our peerset. And no retirements, no widebodies, no leadership, no rudder and slow growing.
That's not a great combination. Yes, this isn't busting rocks in Afghanistan, but is THAT the right comparison?

Dudes hate it at UAL and AA?!? We're PILOTS! Of course they are going to bttch. But I'd rather bttch with pay and benefits that isn't bottom of peerset?
Can you seriously not understand that distinction?
Then you ask where you could have gone, in 2008, to get better career progression? WFCs! That's not the question at hand right now. The discussion is about dudes getting hired today and whether getting hired here now is as good of an opportunity as getting hired by those at the top of our peerset. Can someone get hired now with your 2008 seniority? No.
And complaining that there wasn't enough positive posts about BlueJet?!? Why do you need that?
My seniority number isn't that far behind yours, so it doesn't make much sense for me to leave. Plus it's quite a painful process to start over, which you know full well. What I want is for JB to find it's rudder, find some leadership SOMEWHERE, and realize it's potential for the benefit of all of us. Stop the FAKE culture and to get off the bottom of the peerset in comp, bennies and work rules.

Jetblue played the cards in 2016 but lost the bidding war. It’s clear they’re interested in areas they realize are lacking (eg, west coast, maybe Europe long term). They showed their chips and didn’t win, most likely next time around there won’t be any bidding war. Whoever it is, it’ll just happen and be announced in the news. We both feel the same in regards to a lack of rudder for our respective carrier, but at least with B6 you know they’re looking to buy/merge - and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Switch the coasts around, and this sounds just like us at the other blue and white carrier.

I'm no bluehero, and I'm not looking for a happy happy joy joy, or a cup and tickle. It's the false negatives and the "honesty" that I find annoying when guys are looking for legit intel while trying to make a decision.
I have no issues calling out the legit BS and I think I've been pretty fair in that aspect over the years.
We are in full agreement with jb finding it's rudder and the culture. It's a bítch board and we come here to get it out. However some of the arguments here imo are baseless.
Are you saying that there's a place on JB's list that is better than the bottom of a legacy's list? Are you saying that, depending on a person's situation (someone with your seniority for instance), JB is actually a better option than going to a legacy?
