Default Jet Blue Jump Seat

American Airlines employee here. I haven't jump seated in 15 years. Returning from furlough.

What is the procedure to try to get on a jumpseat with JB?

Can a pilot bring a golf sized bag or oversized bag? Actually a golf sized bag on rollers. Has kiteboard and a couple kites in it. In the old days we could. Now I suspect not. Can't check it because you might not get on the Jump Seat. And can't carry it through KCM right?

You list on myidtravel.com with your aa credentials.

check the load, if it looks good check it. if not, bring it through and gate check it. I've brought golf clubs through kcm in mco to go to lgb without issue. anyone else?

Of course as an AA employee, he will have limited ability to load check on myidtravel, relying on the happy or frowny faces. I'm sure if hit up any of us B6ers on here we'll be happy to help you out with a load check.

I have gone through KCM with dive bag (Which is much larger and heavier then a golf bag) in both MCO and JFK without issue.

The next time I do, however, I think I'll remember to remove my diving knife!!
Ooops!

List 24 hours ahead, when you check in, you can check the loads and see where you stand on the list. Jumpseat goes by order of check in for offline jumpseaters. I use them for my commute. JetBlue is awesome.

And most of us will let you stow your bag in that "spacious" Airbus cockpit. AA? Once the gate agent gets to boarding group 3, no questions asked, Jetblue jumpseater you're checking your bag. Can I check with the CA first? Do you want on this flight?.. Sure, no worries. I've got 45 extra minutes in LGA to run my bag down...

That's unfortunately a rather new AA policy that they even impose on their own people. Our respective Jumpseat committees are trying to work on it.
