No, what he is proposing is an illegal job action, and his post (and all the posts like it) can be used against us. The union does not have to actively call for the job action for the union to be fined. Precedents have indicated that the union has a duty to stop any illegal job actions by its members, even if started independently.
I know that many of us come from non Railway Labor Act places (military, corporate), but calling for people to stop picking up open time, RSA/VDA is illegal. I would prefer our dues go to productive things rather than fines.
The courts will look at all evidence. They will look at the rates of Mx write-ups to see if the pattern changes, sick calls, open time pickups, etc. If the company can show that the pattern changed for any/all of those, ALPA will probably lose.

"The massive fine is a sample of the type of state repression which will be used against any challenge to the profits of corporate America."
F%#& the profits of corporate America. Don't pick up VDA or RSA. If they try to fine me for saying it I will refer them here:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

From the article in regarding the fine:
"The massive fine is a sample of the type of state repression which will be used against any challenge to the profits of corporate America."

They don't fine YOU. They fine US. (If they fined you as an individual I wouldn't give a crap what illegal stuff you spout.)
I'm just saying that things being said on forums aren't necessarily harmless complaining. And calling for a job action is illegal.

We know what he really cares about and it isn't JB pilots.

You don't know anything about me. I pay dues, and don't want my dues wasted on stupidity.

You also defend JB Corp incessantly at a time when that is not yet warranted. Not too many different explanations for that behavior. Being 100% behind JB pilots is not one of them.

Disliking the bitterness is not defending the company, but I wouldn't expect you to get that nuance with your lack of reading comprehension.

Speaking out to push back against people who are rightly unhappy about our current pay and benefits absolutely serves to defend JB. "It's not that bad" " give them time" " it will get better" " it's better than Mess" "it's not the worst place".

I agree the company can use all this against us in an illegal job action case. That wasn't my intent. My intent was to let the "uninformed" pilots out there, the current environment calls for "US" instead of "ME" right now.
I came from an airline where if you picked up opentime when guys were on furlough or you went below "min" days off after all the hard work the union put forth to negotiate those days off, was strongly frowned upon.
Coming from an airline where we were the only 1 in ALPA history to vote 100% for a strike, I just expect more from the pilots at Blue

Do you know how much of the $45M APA actually paid? Zero. Basically American didn't collect because they knew it was thier pilots doing it individually. APA told them it might further add to labor strife. Code for there is more where that came from.

I have not said any of the things you quoted above.
