I know when I used to commute on AA/UAL/DL, if there were open seats in first/business they'd let me come up. I'm not interested in the food etc, really just would rather lay down for a 5hr flight.
There is ZERO chance of a flight attendant letting your friend sit up front. Everyone at Jetblue is scared. Really scared.

Zero chance. Have to pay to play. Just my experience. I have however been given a mint seat on a non-mint Flight that had to be substituted. I asked your question to the F1 and the answer was no,” they’re tighter with mint than a teen aged boys backside”... 🤮

Yep, actually, they are pretty tough on pax too that try to scam a EML seat.

They wouldn’t even let a deadheader sit up there even if there was a seat open.

They have spewed this “we are all equal” BS for 18 years. If they let you sit up there then they have to let everyone sit there. They don’t want certain people up there. If you think about it, it fits perfectly with the millennial lib philosophy of the people running this place.

In my first month on the line a FA and I watched a plane taxi away with 2 open Mint seats, because neither of us wanted to/could afford $75 to commute home. Because culture.

Don't forget to help clean!

I don't even commute on us anymore and I just bought plane tickets on Delta this past week for me and my family for vacation.

I think your AO people were very wrong. Back when mint first came out there were a bunch of FAQs. One was about your situation. They should have moved people up from the back ie mosaics or people in EML and you would get thier seats.
Yes you should get the mint seats for free but I’m pretty sure your AO people dorked that up.

When I fly JB it's positive space (True Blue points or CM Discount) or not at all.

Wow, that's so messed up. I know on UAL when I had their benefits if you asked or listed for first/business then you would be charged (Usually like 30 or so bucks) but once on board the FAs would let you go on up if there were open seats. I don't get why they won't allow employees to just ride mint. I hope that changes in the future.

$75 is steep considered you fly their airplanes...
