Are you suggesting that people should not follow SOP? ALPA says follow SOP.

Maybe Xtreme is saying that in extreme circumstances it's best to error on the side of safety.

Right. Extreme situations like some light snow...

Illegal job actions are a bad idea.

De-icing is an illegal job action? Call the lawyers!!!!!!!! Lots of illegal job actions happening daily. Seriously Southy, youre a clown. Keep flying .80, grab an RSA, 1E taxi and wait for your warm-up for #2 at the hold short. You just made me update my apps.

Here’s a trivia question. What airline was sued for an illegal job action and now has a contract? Hint: They we’re in negotiations for less time than JB.

I get that the deicing manual may allow you to depart without deicing in light snow that's not adhering to the aircraft, but what makes executing sound decision making and going with the safest course of action an illegal work action?

Bubba, be careful correlating the Spirit pilots' TRO with their new contract. That was almost a year ago and in between was a "final" offer the company mailed directly to each pilot and icing by the NMB. How do we know their TA wouldn't have been better without the TRO and icing by the NMB?

Nearly all of us on here are frustrated, disappointed, and mad as hell, but we can't start down the slippery slope of believing a truly illegal work action will have a beneficial outcome for this pilot group. The courts are not our friend.

Adherence to SOP, a laser sharp focus on safety, constructively educating other pilots, and following the MEC guidance will ultimately be our path to the contract we deserve and have earned.

Every a/c before and after that flight had 70 to 90+ minute taxi out times. The one champion departs with a 21 minute taxi in JFK. So all those guys were doing an illegal job action? GTFO. Stop trying to justify stupid. It was wet snow, coming in heavier bands at times.

Calling people out because you don't like their decision, and intending to publicly shame people for picking up RSAs, etc. Those are illegal job actions.

The decision (either way) to deice that he (and others) made isn't the job action.

There is the cheap (for the company) way, then there is the safest way. Which way does old Southy fall on? Surprise!

Stop being a scumbag and put your lanyard on.

Whoever wants to know who Southerner is...PM me and I’ll give you his seniority number. That way you can pull him aside and see how much of a [deleted] he is when you see him in the terminal!
